Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council adopt a resolution accepting $35,733.57 in donations, sponsorships, and proceeds net of the associated expenses from the 30th Annual Trivia Challenge to support the Library Department's Project Read Program, amending the Library Department's Fiscal Year (FY) 2023-24 Operating Budget by $21,500 to enhance Project Read's programs and services and approving Budget Amendment Number 24.040.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The Library has received $35,733.57 from local businesses, community groups, individuals, and others including those mentioned below, to support Project Read literacy programs and services via the Annual Trivia Challenge Event. Project Read provides services to children, families, and adults through program components, including Adult Reading and Writing Tutoring, Families for Literacy, Financial Wellbeing, and Learning Wheels. On December 8, 2023, Project Read held the 30th Anniversary of the Annual Trivia Challenge with 20 competing teams and nearly 300 participants. Gross revenue from the event included sponsorships, donations, a silent auction, a raffle, and team and dinner fees, totaling $55,671. After expenses of $19,937.43, the net Income was $35,733.57. $14,233.57 will be accepted into Project Read's donation account.
