Resolution authorizing an agreement between the San Mateo County Library and the South San Francisco Public Library to provide staffing for the Big Lift Inspiring Summers program in South San Francisco and approving Budget Amendment 23.055 accepting up to $15,000 in reimbursement funding.

WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco (“City”) Library Department supports early childhood education; and
WHEREAS, the Big Lift Inspiring Summers (BLIS) program reduces learning loss during summer break for kindergarten through third grade students; and
WHEREAS, the Library Department will work in partnership with the San Mateo County Library to provide BLIS programming at Spruce Elementary and Los Cerritos Elementary schools; and
WHEREAS, San Mateo County Library shall reimburse the Library for providing staffing to support the program in an amount not to exceed $15,000; and
WHEREAS, receipt of these grant funds does not commit the City to ongoing funding; and
WHEREAS, the foregoing funds will be used to amend the Library Department’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2022-2023 Operating Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City hereby authorizes an agreement between the San Mateo County Library and the South San Francisco Public Library to provide staffing for the Big Lift Inspiring Summers program in South San Francisco.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council approves Budget Amendment 23.055 to amend the Library Department’s FY 2022-2023 Operating Budget accepting up to $15,000 in reimbursement funding.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the documents necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution on behalf of the City Council, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.
