Resolution authorizing the acceptance of $15,000 in grant funding from Smart Growth America to support the City’s participation in the Complete Streets Leadership Academy with Caltrans and amending the Economic and Community Development Department’s Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Operating Budget via Budget Amendment #23.053.

WHEREAS, Smart Growth America (SGA) has awarded the City $15,000 in grant funding to support the City’s participation in the Complete Streets Leadership Academy; and

 

WHEREAS, SGA grant funding would support the City and Caltrans to implement a Complete Streets demonstration project on a state-owned roadway; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco (“City”) strategic plan goals include the improvement of quality of life under priority #2; and

 

WHEREAS, grant funds will be used to purchase materials such as paint, temporary delineators, barriers, materials for public outreach events; and

 

WHEREAS, staff recommends the acceptance of the grant funding in the amount of $15,000 from SGA to support the Complete Streets Leadership Academy; and

 

WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used to amend Fiscal Year (FY) 2022-2023 Operating Budget of the Economic and Community Development Department via Budget Amendment #23.053.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does hereby accept $15,000 in grant funding from Smart Growth America.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby approve Budget Amendment #23.053 to amend the Economic and Community Development Department’s FY 2022-2023 Operating Budget in order to reflect an increase of $15,000.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a grant agreement with Smart Growth America in the form of a letter agreement as attached to the accompanying staff report, or in another form approved by the City Attorney, and to execute any other necessary documents on behalf of the City to carry out the intent of this resolution, subject to approval by the City Attorney.
