Resolution authorizing the acceptance of the 2023 San Mateo County Summer Enrichment Grant in the amount of $44,016, and amending the Parks and Recreation Department Fiscal Year 2022-23 Operating Budget pursuant to budget amendment #23.051.

WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department (Department) received $44,016 from the 2023 San Mateo County Summer Enrichment Grant for the Department’s Summer Camp Programs ($23,944 for the Terrabay Summer Camp and $20,072 for the Orange Park Summer Camp); and

 

WHEREAS, the 2023 San Mateo County Summer Enrichment Grant will provide 20 students (10 spaces each for Terrabay Summer Camp and Orange Park Summer Camp) the opportunity to attend summer camp at no cost, and provide recruitment incentives to current staff who refer applicants who are hired and work for the summer; and

 

WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department appreciates contributions from community partners who help continue and enhance the Department’s mission to provide opportunities for physical, cultural and social well-being, protect and enhance the physical environment, and ensure the effective and efficient use of public facilities and open space.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby accepts the 2023 San Mateo County Summer Enrichment Grant in the amount of $44,016.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council approves budget amendment #23.051 to amend the Parks and Recreation Department’s Fiscal Year 2022-23 Operating Budget.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,  that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the documents necessary to accept the grant funding and take any other actions necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution on behalf of the City Council, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.
