Resolution authorizing the acceptance of $7,918.09 in grant funding from the Department of Justice for soft armor vests for the South San Francisco Police Department and approving Budget Amendment 23.021.

WHEREAS, the Police Department applied for a grant through the Department of Justice Bulletproof Vest Partnership for soft armor vests for $15,836.18; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Justice Bulletproof Vest Partnership has awarded the City $7,918.09 in grant funding for soft armor vests for the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used to augment the operating budget of the Police Department for Fiscal Year (FY) 2022-2023.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does hereby accept $7,918.09 in grant funding from the Department of Justice Bulletproof Vest Partnership.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby approve Budget Amendment 23.021 to amend the Police Department’s FY 2022-2023 Operating Budget in order to reflect an increase of $7,918.09.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a grant agreement and any other necessary documents on behalf of the City to carry out the intent of this resolution, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.
