Resolution authorizing the acceptance of $60,000 in federal Library Services and Technology Act grant funding from the California State Library to support “Community Connections”, a project that will fund health, education, and social services outreach in South San Francisco and approving Budget Amendment 22.032

WHEREAS, the California State Library has awarded the City $60,000 in federal Library Services and Technology Act grant funding to support “Community Connections” outreach throughout South San Francisco; and

 

WHEREAS, “Community Connections” will provide health, education and social services outreach in South San Francisco through June 2022; and

 

WHEREAS, grant funding will be used for outreach activities including canvassing, conducting needs assessments, and establishing a resource desk at the Grand Avenue Branch Library; and

 

WHEREAS, Library staff will partner with the Promotores team to canvass neighborhoods; and

 

WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used to amend Fiscal Year (FY) 2021-2022 Operating Budget of the Library Department via Budget Amendment 22.032.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does hereby accept $60,000 in federal LSTA grant funding from the California State Library and approve Budget Amendment 22.032 to amend the Library Department’s FY 2021-2022 Operating Budget in order to reflect an increase of $60,000.
