Resolution authorizing an agreement between the San Mateo County Library and the South San Francisco Public Library to provide staffing for the Big Lift Inspiring Summers program in South San Francisco and approving Budget Amendment 20.043 accepting up to $9,209 in reimbursement funding.

WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco (“City”) Library Department supports early childhood education; and

 

WHEREAS, the Big Lift Inspiring Summers (BLIS) program reduces learning loss during summer break for kindergarten through third grade students; and

 

WHEREAS, the Library Department will work in partnership with the San Mateo County Library to provide BLIS programming at Spruce Elementary School; and

 

WHEREAS, San Mateo County Library shall reimburse the Library for providing staffing to support the program in an amount not to exceed $9,209; and

 

WHEREAS, receipt of these grant funds does not commit the City to ongoing funding; and

 

WHEREAS, the foregoing funds will be used to amend the Library Department’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2019-20 Operating Budget.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does hereby authorize the City to enter into an agreement with the San Mateo County Library and approve Budget Amendment 20.043 to amend the Library Department’s FY 2019-2020 Operating Budget in order to reflect an increase of $9,209.
