Resolution approving an agreement between the San Mateo County Library and the South San Francisco Public Library to provide staffing for the Big Lift Inspiring Summers program in the City of South San Francisco, and approving Budget Amendment 19.055 to accept up to $12,700 in reimbursement funding.

WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco (City) Library Department supports early childhood education; and

 

WHEREAS, the Big Lift Inspiring Summers (“BLIS”) program reduces learning loss during summer break for kindergarten through second grade students; and

 

WHEREAS, the Library Department will work in partnership with the San Mateo County Library to provide BLIS programming at Spruce Elementary School; and

 

WHEREAS, San Mateo County Library will reimburse the Library for providing staffing to support the program in an amount not to exceed $12,700; and

 

WHEREAS, receipt of these grant funds does not commit the City to ongoing funding; and

 

WHEREAS, the foregoing funds will be used to amend the Library Department’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-19 Operating Budget.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does hereby approve an agreement with the San Mateo County Library, attached hereto as Exhibit A.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco authorizes the City Manager or his designee to execute the agreement, and take any other action consistent with the intent of this resolution that does not materially increase the City’s obligations.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council approves Budget Amendment 19.055 to amend the Library Department’s FY 2018-2019 Operating Budget in order to reflect an increase of up to $12,700 in reimbursement funding.
