WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco (City) has identified the need to conduct a thorough analysis of existing traffic congestion within the East of 101 employment campus; and

WHEREAS, the City is seeking ways to better manage growth in the industrial and research development parks in the East of 101 area to ensure a high-quality employment environment; and

WHEREAS, the development and implementation of the East of 101 Transportation Plan ("Project") aims to explore a range of transportation improvements in order to address current congestion, and accommodate continued growth and development; and

WHEREAS, the City issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Professional Services on November 29, 2017, received four qualified proposals, and interviewed all proposing consultants on January 25, 2018; and

WHEREAS, based on the interviews and the qualifications submitted, Fehr & Peers demonstrated they have the staffing availability and expertise to provide the transportation planning services that will guide the City's infrastructure and policy development within the East of 101 area.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby approves a consulting services agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit A, with Fehr & Peers of San Francisco, California in an amount not to exceed $150,000, conditioned on the timely execution of the consulting services agreement and submission of all required documents, including but not limited to, certificates of insurance and endorsements, in accordance with the Project documents.
