RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

It is recommended commissioners discuss what they would like to discuss at this year’s annual commission retreat.

Body

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

Each commission and board with the City of South San Francisco is encouraged to partake in a retreat once per year to step away from their regular routine and responsibilities and to focus on self-reflection, skill development, team building, goal setting, or any other item of importance. Last year’s commission retreat occurred on Monday, October 21, 2024. Commissioners were provided a presentation on Rosenberg’s Rules of Order (which provided guidance on how commission meetings are to be conducted) and on Antiracism (which provided proactive actions that would challenge (overt and covert) racist acts. Commissioners also reviewed their priorities and goals of 2024.

This year’s retreat can focus on a few items including, additional training, review of the Racial and Social Equity Report, discuss potential goals for 2026, review commission bilaws, etc.

CONCLUSION

Commissioners will discuss what they would like to review at this year’s annual commission retreat.
