Resolution authorizing the City Manager or designee to execute a revised amendment of the Memorandum of Understanding for the 2026-2027, 2027-2028, and 2028-2029 school years between the City of South San Francisco and the South San Francisco Unified School District.

WHEREAS, on June 10, 2026, the South San Francisco City Council received a report on the 2025-2026 School Liaison Officer (SLO) program; and
WHEREAS, a resolution was approved continuing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of South San Francisco and the South San Francisco Unified School District (SSFUSD) for the 2026-2027 school year; and
WHEREAS, it was recommended that staff explore the possibility of modifying the review process from an annual to triennial basis; and
WHEREAS, on June 27, 2026, the SSFUSD presented the annual report to the Board of Trustees and recommended a triennial review for school years 2026-2027, 2027-2028, and 2028-2029 and each successive three-year term; and
WHEREAS, the update only changes the review cycle and does not modify any other portions of the existing MOU; and
WHEREAS, at any time, the City of South San Francisco and/or the South San Francisco Unified School District can choose to agendize the status of the MOU at any of their respective meetings; and
WHEREAS, additionally, the School Liaison Program report will remain an annual report at both City Council and Board of Trustees meetings.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby authorizes the City Manager or designee to approve the amended MOU between the City of South San Francisco and the South San Francisco Unified School District.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of the City of South San Francisco or designee is hereby authorized and directed to execute the amended update of the Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the City of South San Francisco in substantially the same form as Exhibit A, subjec...
