BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

Library Director Valerie Sommer is keeping the Library Board apprised of the City’s July 4, 2026 events.

As part of the America250 year-long celebration, the City of South San Francisco will host a community-wide celebration on Independence Day: Saturday, July 4. The celebration will include a parade near City Hall, entertainment and activities for families, and a picnic.

Grand Avenue Library will be open on July 4, and will have library programming for patrons.

A brief about the celebration was included in the Local Briefs section of the May 16-17, 2026 Weekend edition of The Daily Journal.
