WHEREAS, on May 13, 2026, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 47-2026 authorizing the submittal of an application to the California Transportation Commission (CTC) for Cycle 8 Active Transportation Program (ATP) funding for the South City Active Connections to Jobs and the Bay Project (Project); and

WHEREAS, the ATP is a statewide program administered by the California Transportation Commission and funded through a combination of federal and state sources to improve walking, bicycling, and multimodal safety and connectivity; and

WHEREAS, following adoption of Resolution No. 47-2026, City staff continued refining the ATP application and identified an opportunity to improve the competitiveness of the application by increasing the City's proposed local match contribution; and

WHEREAS, staff has identified sufficient available fund balance within the East of 101 Traffic Impact Fee Fund to support an increased local match contribution; and

WHEREAS, the City now seeks to increase the authorized local match contribution from $3,800,000 to $7,500,000 to improve the competitiveness of the ATP application and similar grant applications for the Project; and

WHEREAS, the Project continues to support multimodal access to employment centers, transit, and regional active transportation corridors and remains consistent with the City's adopted Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan (Active South City).

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby:

1. Amends Resolution No. 47-2026 to authorize a local match contribution not to exceed $7,500,000 for the South City Active Connections to Jobs and the Bay Project.
