Resolution approving Amendment 4 to the City's wage and salary schedule for fiscal year 2025-2026 to establish the salary range for the new classification of Plant Operations Supervisor and incorporate the local minimum wage update for January 2026

WHEREAS, on June 25, 2025, the City Council approved the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year operating budget, which includes funds to establish a full-time Plant Operations Supervisor in the Public Works Department; and
WHEREAS, on August 13, 2025, the City Council approved the 2025-2026 Wage and Salary Schedule pursuant to the City's Personnel Rules and Regulations; and
WHEREAS, staff developed a job description for a regular full-time Plant Operations Supervisor classification, included in the City's classified service and the mid-management bargaining unit; and
WHEREAS, based on analysis of external market data and comparable internal positions, staff developed a recommended salary range for the Plant Operations Supervisor; and
WHEREAS, staff met and conferred with Teamsters Local 856 and reached tentative agreement on the salary and job description for the proposed classification.
WHEREAS, staff recommends approval of an amendment to the salary schedule to establish the salary range for the Plant Operations Supervisor classification, and to incorporate local minimum wage adjustments effective January 1, 2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does hereby:
1. Find the above findings true and correct and incorporated herein by reference.
2. Approve Amendment 4 to the City's Wage and Salary Schedule for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 to include the salary range for Plant Operations Supervisor effective December 11, 2026 and a local minimum wage adjustment effective January 1, 2026, attached hereto as Exhibit A.
