Resolution of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco taking an official position on Proposition 1 appearing on the November 3, 2026 General Election Ballot.

WHEREAS, California voters will consider statewide ballot measures on the November 3, 2026 General Election ballot, including Proposition 1, titled “The Veterans and Affordable Housing Bond Act of 2026”; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council periodically reviews state ballot measures to evaluate their potential impact on municipal governance, community priorities, and local funding needs and opportunities; and

 

WHEREAS, the League of California Cities has asked cities to take a stance on some  propositions on the November 2026 ballot; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council reviewed staff’s objective analysis regarding the legislative, fiscal, and policy implications of Proposition 1 at its regular meeting on October 14, 2026; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council finds that taking an official policy position on Proposition 1 aligns with the City's adopted Legislative Platform and serves the public interest.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby officially [supports / opposes / takes no position on] Proposition 1.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the City Manager or designee to execute and submit official communications reflecting this policy position to state legislative representatives, regional municipal associations, and official election records as appropriate.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the City Manager or designee to publish factual information regarding the Council’s policy action in accordance with applicable California election laws and Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) regulations.
