It is recommended that commissioners review Implementation Actions for Strategy 2.2 of the Racial and Social Equity Commission Report to determine short-term goals for the Commission.
Body
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
During the commission retreat at the September 15, 2025 meeting, commissioners explored ways in which the commission could be more productive (with respect to the Brown Act) given they meet once per week; creating more ad hoc committees was recommended and agreed upon so commissioners are able to work in small groups in between meetings. Understanding the commission’s original goals and strategies were outlined in the Racial and Social Equity Commission Report, commissioners requested to review the specific “implementation actions” that were identified in the report specific to the Commission. Ideally, commissioners will select 3-4 “actions” and create an ad hoc committee for each item. Committees can then create goals, objectives, outlines, and deadlines for each action to eventually be implemented.
