Title

Resolution authorizing the acceptance of Community Project Funding grant funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development Economic Development Initiative for Fiscal Year 2025-26 in an amount of $850,000 for the Westborough Preschool project pursuant to Budget Amendment Number 26.065.

WHEREAS, the Westborough Preschool project creates a new preschool care facility at Westborough Park; and

WHEREAS, the project is partially funded by Childcare Impact Fees collected by the City; and

WHEREAS, in early 2025, City staff submitted an $850,000 funding request through Congressman Mullin for the Economic Development Initiative Community Project Fund for Fiscal Year 2025-26; and

WHEREAS, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2026 and became law No: 119-75 on February 3, 2026, which included a Community Project Fund grant in the amount of $850,000 for the Westborough Preschool project.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of South San Francisco City Council hereby accepts $850,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending for the South San Francisco Westborough Preschool project.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council approves Budget Amendment Number 26.065 to amend the Fiscal Year 2025-26 Capital Improvement Program Budget for project pf2101.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager or their authorized designee to execute the documents necessary to accept the grant funding and take any other actions necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution on behalf of the City Council, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.
