Resolution approving Amendment 1 to the City’s wage and salary schedule for fiscal year 2025-26 to establish the salary range for the new classification of Crisis Response Clinician I/II

WHEREAS, on June 25, 2025, the City Council approved the fiscal year 2025-26 operating budget, which includes funds to establish a full-time Crisis Response Clinician in the Police Department, and
WHEREAS, on August 13, 2025, the City Council approved the 2025-26 Wage and Salary Schedule pursuant to the City’s Personnel Rules and Regulations; and
WHEREAS, staff developed a job description for a regular full-time Crisis Response Clinician I/II classification, included in the City’s classified service and the mid-management bargaining unit; and
WHEREAS, based on analysis of external market data and comparable internal positions, staff developed a recommended salary range for the Crisis Response Clinician I and II, attached hereto as Exhibit A.
WHEREAS, staff met and conferred with Teamsters Local 856 and reached tentative agreement on the salary and job description for the proposed classification.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does hereby:
1. Find the above findings true and correct and incorporated herein by reference.
2. Approve the Amendment 1 to the City’s Wage and Salary Schedule for Fiscal Year 2025-26 to include the salary ranges for Crisis Response Clinician I and II, attached hereto as Exhibit A.
3. This action shall be effective the date of the adoption by City Council.
