WHEREAS, at the October 22, 2025 City Council Meeting, the City Council approved the acceptance of Older Americans Act (OAA) grant funds from San Mateo County Aging and Adult Services (AAS) Division for the purpose of providing Adult Day Care, Transportation, and Congregate Nutrition services at the Parks and Recreation Department's Roberta Cerri Teglia Center; and

WHEREAS, the AAS grant amount accepted by City Council on October 22, 2025 was in the amount of $42,000 for Adult Day Care, $13,000 for Transportation, and $45,962 for Congregate Nutrition, amounting to a total allocation of $100,962; and

WHEREAS, the California Department of Aging has disbursed a one-time-only allocation from the California Department of Aging in the amount of $10,328 for Adult Day Care, and San Mateo County allocated $2,795 to add 520 meals to the Congregate Nutrition Program, raising the total grant award by $13,123 from $100,962 to $114,085; and

WHEREAS, for many years, the Parks and Recreation Department's Senior Services Program has received OAA grant funds from the AAS Division for the purpose of providing Senior Services and Adult Day Care and Transportation program services; and

WHEREAS, beginning in fiscal year 2022-2023, the Parks and Recreation Department applied for and began receiving additional grant funding to operate a Congregate Nutrition program to address food insecurity in older adults.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby approves the acceptance of additional grant funds from the San Mateo County Aging and Adult Se...
