Resolution accepting $10,000 from the Carnegie Foundation to support and enhance library services at the Grand Avenue Library, amending the Library Department’s fiscal year 2025-26 Operating Budget, and approving Budget Amendment Number 26.037.

WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco Library Department is dedicated to assisting all residents in locating and accessing information; and
WHEREAS, the Carnegie Foundation has awarded $10,000 to the Library Department as part of the Foundation’s initiative to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence; and
WHEREAS, the award will be used to support and enhance Grand Avenue Library’s important services for the South San Francisco residents; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends the acceptance of the award in the amount of $10,000 from the Carnegie Foundation to support the Grand Avenue Library’s services to South San Francisco residents; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of this award will contribute to the City’s Strategic Plan under Priority #2 Life, Quality of Life, by supporting library services; and
WHEREAS, gift funds will be used to amend the Library Department’s fiscal year 2025-26 Operating Budget via Budget Amendment Number 26.037, and receipt of these funds does not commit the City to ongoing funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does hereby accept $10,000 in gift funds from the Carnegie Foundation; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council approves Budget Amendment Number 26.037 to amend the Library Department’s FY 2025-26 Operating Budget.
