Title

Resolution approving a 1-year service agreement between the City of South San Francisco and the City of Pacifica, with the option to extend contract for up to 4 additional 1-year terms, to continue providing Police Communication Services from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027.

WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco’s Police Department has been providing police communication services to the City of Pacifica for the last 15 years; and 

 

WHEREAS, the current agreement between the City of South San Francisco (“City”) and the City of Pacifica (“Pacifica”) is set to expire on June 30, 2026; and

 

WHEREAS, the staff recommends that the City Council authorize the services agreement with Pacifica to continue providing police communication services through June 30, 2027, with an option to extend contract for up to 4 additional 1-year terms; and

 

WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Pacifica to continue to provide police communication services to Pacifica; and

 

WHEREAS, adequate funding and staffing for these services is presently allocated in the Police Department’s current operating budget and no modifications are required.

 

NOW, THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco approves an extension to the service agreement with the City of Pacifica, attached to this resolution as Exhibit A, in order to continue to provide the City of Pacifica with police communication services.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager of the City of South San Francisco, or her designee, is hereby authorized and directed to execute the extension to the service agreement on behalf of the City of South San Francisco, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney, and to take any other action consistent with the intent of this Resolution.
