Recommendation
It is recommended commissioners receive a presentation on the City of South San Francisco Police Department’s Annual Military Equipment report.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On September 30, 2021, California Assembly Bill 481 was signed into law, pertaining to law enforcement’s use of specific items defined as military equipment. The Police Department drafted a Military Equipment policy that was approved by City Council on July 27, 2022. Pursuant to Assembly Bill 481, the Police Department is required to submit an annual military equipment report for each type of military equipment approved by the governing body.
The presentation will include a summary of Assembly Bill 481, the police department’s response to the bill’s requirements, and the 2025 Military Equipment Annual report.
CONCLUSION
Commissioners will hear a presentation on the City of South San Francisco Police Department’s Annual Military Equipment report.
