Resolution authorizing the acceptance of donations from various community partners totaling $179,000 for Fiscal Year 2025-26, and in-kind donations for the Parks and Recreation Department’s Concert in the Park event.

WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department received donations from various community partners in the amount of $29,000 for Fiscal Year 2025-26, as well as in-kind donations for no-cost shuttle services to support the annual Concert in the Park event on September 20, 2025, which drew over 6,700 attendees; and

 

WHEREAS, a $150,000 donation from Stripe will be used to purchase battery-powered maintenance equipment and install charging infrastructure at the Corporation Yard, advancing the City’s electrification and sustainability efforts; and

 

WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department appreciates contributions from individual community members and local organizations that help continue and enhance the Department’s mission to provide opportunities for physical, cultural and social well-being; protect and enhance the physical environment; and ensure the effective and efficient use of public facilities and open space.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby accepts in-kind and monetary donations for the Parks and Recreation Department’s annual Concert in the Park event, totaling $29,000, and a monetary donation in the amount of $150,000 from Stripe to support the electrification of the Parks Division’s handheld maintenance equipment, for a combined total of  $179,000 for Fiscal Year 2025-26.
