BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
In response to commissioners expressing interest in learning more about the City’s public art collection, staff have been providing a public art collection monthly spotlight.
For the August 2025 spotlight, staff have identified two public art pieces, one sculpture and one mural. The sculpture, “Untitled 45” by artist Ivan McLean, can be found at the median at Lux Avenue and Maple Avenue. The mural, “Our South City” by artist Sirron Norris, is located at Gardiner Park. (A fun video interview with the artist, Sirron Norris, was filmed while he painted the “Our South City” mural and can be found at: <https://youtu.be/2W0qvSpRz90>)
More information on these pieces and the overall public art collection can be found under the “Interactive Map” tab on the Cultural Arts website: www.ssf.net/culturalarts <http://www.ssf.net/culturalarts>. Note, as previously mentioned, the “Interactive Map” is in the process of being refreshed.
