It is recommended that commissioners discuss details about this year’s commission retreat

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Each commission and board with the City of South San Francisco is encouraged to partake in a retreat once per year to step away from their regular routine and responsibilities and to focus on self-reflection, skill development, team building, goal setting, or any other item of importance. Last year’s commission retreat occurred on Monday, September 15, 2025, when commissioners decided to develop “communications” and “presentation to council” ad hoc committees, reviewed the Racial and Social Equity Report, and reviewed commission bylaws.
For this conversation, commissioners should decide on the following for this year’s retreat:
• Date
• Topics or trainings of interest
• Potential activities*
*The chair and vice chair are recommending each commissioner choose a topic that they are relatively knowledgeable about and lead a group training about that topic. This could also be carried out in teams. Again, this is just a recommendation.
