Resolution making findings and determining that the acquisition of 1229 Crestwood Drive by the City of South San Francisco is in conformance with the South San Francisco adopted General Plan and in accordance with Government Code Section 65402.
Body
WHEREAS, prior to acquisition of real property by the City, the Planning Commission as the planning agency for the City is required to find such a conveyance is in conformity with the adopted General Plan in accordance with Government Code section 65402; and
WHEREAS, 1229 Crestwood Drive (subject property) is moderately sized at 4,860 SF and developed as a currently vacant single-family home in a low-density residential neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the subject property could be developed as an access point to the much larger South San Francisco Unified School District open space area if the City and school district can coordinate a shared access/development concept; and
WHEREAS, the addition of a new community park has been a priority of the Sunshine Gardens neighborhood residents; and
WHEREAS, the current use of the subject property will remain unchanged through the acquisition of the property; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of the subject property is consistent with General Plan policy direction, in particular Policy PR-4.2 to Coordinate with South San Francisco Unified School District on facility access and Action PR-4.2.1 to Establish Sunshine Gardens Shared use agreement to provide access to the Sunshine Gardens Elementary School open space areas and playground.

1. The foregoing recitals are true and correct and made a part of this resolution.
2. The documents and other material constituting the record for these proceedings are located at the Planning Division for the City of South San Francisco, 315 Maple Avenue, South San Francisco, CA 94080, and in the custody of the Chief Planner.
