Resolution approving amendments to the Executive Management Compensation Plan and approving the associated salary schedule for the Executive Management unit.

WHEREAS, under direction of the City Council, City staff met with representatives of the Executive Management employee unit, and have proposed amendments to the Executive Management Compensation Plan for the term if July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027; and

 

WHEREAS, the Compensation Plan provides for a four percent (4%) across-the-board wage adjustment for all covered positions in the first year of the agreement, a four percent (4%) wage adjustment in the second year of the agreement; and

 

WHEREAS, the Compensation Plan eliminates provides for the elimination of Management Incentive Pay, and adds the equivalent amount to the base salary of positions currently receiving such pay; and

 

WHEREAS, the Compensation Plan provides for an increase from $1,200 to $1,300 in the annual uniform allowance for the Police Chief ; and

 

WHEREAS, staff recommends approval of the Compensation Plan in order to provide wage adjustments to account for cost-of-living increases, to ensure successful recruitment and retention of employees, and to maintain a competitive position with comparable cities in the San Francisco Bay Area.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby:

 

 

1.                     Approves the Executive Management Compensation Plan for July 1, 2025-June 30, 2027, attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein; and

 

2.                     Authorizes the City Manager to execute the Executive Management Compensation Plan and Public Safety Managers Compensation Plan, and to make any minor revisions, amendments, or modifications deemed necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution and of the agreement by the parties, which do not materially alter or increase the City’s obligations thereunder, and approved as to form by the City Attorney; and

 

3.                     Approves the Executive Management Salary Schedule for fiscal year 2025-26 to incorporate changes to salaries, attached hereto as Exhibit B and incorporated herein.
