Sportsfield Activities
This year there are additional amenities thanks to a generous grant from Genentech. Face painters as well as balloon animal artists will be on hand in the children's area. Chill Skate, a mobile skating rink vendor, is also returning thanks to Genentech. The children's area activities that also include our carnival and inflatable games are at no cost to families. Also new this year the following vendors will also be on the sports field providing activities for families as well:
* SSF Aquatics Club
* SSF Youth Baseball Managers Association
* SSF United Youth Soccer League
* Super Soccer Stars
* Bay Area Calisthenics
* Fit4Mom
Safety and Security
There will be police and fire presence at the concert as in the past. Each will have a tent set up in the vendor area as part of their homebase for concert. This year, due to the possible larger attendance, a private security company, High Rock Security, has been hired to work alongside the Police Department to provide additional security for the concert. The High Rock Security team members are Security Guard Certified (CA Guard Card) issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS), the regulating body for private security in California. They emphasize de-escalation and low confrontation and as a company do not carry any defensive weapons. They will be stationed around the stage, in the gathering area, beer and wine area and children's area. Both teams have met and have gone over expectations and roles for this event.
CONCLUSION
Staff is looking forward to another successful Concert in the Park and upcoming events. Staff welcomes discussion and feedback from the Commission.
