Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a First Amendment to the Consulting Services Agreement with Bellecci & Associates of Pleasanton, California for an additional $134,718, resulting in a total contract amount of $462,134, with the understanding that $324,716.07 has already been paid, for the Mission Road Underground Utilities District (Project No. st1904).

WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco (“City”) adopted 2023-24 Capital Improvement Program (“CIP”) which includes Project No. st1904 for the Mission Road Underground Utilities District (“Project”); and

 

WHEREAS, Bellecci & Associates (“Consultant)” is the current design consultant for the City for the Project; and

 

WHEREAS, on December 12, 2018, the City and Consultant executed a Consulting Services Agreement in a total contract budget amount of $327,416 to provide design services for the Project, attached hereto and incorporated herein as part of Exhibit A; and

 

WHEREAS, the design of the Project was originally anticipated to be completed by December 31, 2021; and

 

WHEREAS, due to extended coordination time with PG&E, additional design items, and design services during construction, the anticipated completion date is now June 30, 2026; and

 

WHEREAS, the City will require additional out-of-scope design items and design support during construction; and

 

WHEREAS, staff proposes that the City execute a First Amendment to the Agreement with Bellecci & Associates for an additional amount of $134,718, resulting in a total contract amount of $462,134 with the understanding that $324,716.07 has already been paid; and

 

WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds allocated in the City’s FY 2023-24 CIP for the consultant’s proposed fees for the Project’s required services.

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of South San Francisco hereby takes the following actions:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1.                     Approves the First Amendment to the Agreement, attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit B, extending the term to June 30th, 2026 and increasing the contract amount by $134,718, resulting in a total contract budget of $462,134, with the understanding that $324,716.07 has already been paid.

 

2.                     Authorizes the City Manager to execute the First Amendment with Bellecci & Associates and to make any revisions, amendments, or modifications deemed necessary to carry out the intent of the staff report or this resolution, which do not materially alter or increase the City’s obligations thereunder, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco authorizes the Finance Department to modify the Project Budget consistent with the information contained in the staff report.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the agreement and any other related documents on behalf of the City upon timely execution by Bellecci & Associates signed contracts and all other documents, subject to approval by the City Attorney.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco authorizes the City Manager to take any other related actions consistent with the intention of the Staff Report and Resolution.
