Resolution authorizing the approval of Program Supplement Agreement No. F028 Revision 2 and Budget Amendment Number 26.020 to include Program Supplemental Agreement No. F028 Revision 2 with the State of California for the Bridge Preventive Maintenance Program (Project No. st1703) in an amount of $196,205 with a total local match of $25,421 from the Citywide Traffic Impact Fee.

WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco (“City”) has an ongoing Bridge Preventive Maintenance Program (BPMP) for the sixteen (16) vehicle bridges that are under the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Bridge Inspection Program. The BPMP was created to help local agencies extend the life of their bridges by performing certain activities that have been preapproved by the Federal Highway Administration; and
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco (“City”) staff applied for and, in 2025, received Program Supplemental Agreement No. F028 Revision 2 from Caltrans; and
WHEREAS, Program Supplement Agreement No. F028 Revision 2 authorizes Federal funding in the amount of $196,205 for the maintenance of nine bridges identified in the Caltrans Bridge Inspection Reports, with a local match of $25,421 for this program supplement agreement from the Citywide Traffic Impact Fee, and in conjunction with the prior local match of $14,911, for a combined total amount of preliminary engineering cost of $236,537; and
WHEREAS, Budget Amendment Number 26.020 will amend the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Operating Budget to reflect the addition of $196,205 for the Bridge Preventative Maintenance Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of South San Francisco hereby approves Program Supplement Agreement No. F028 Revision 2. attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A, and authorizes the City Manager to execute the agreement in substantially the same form as Exhibit A.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the addition of $196,205 to the Bridge Preventive Maintenance Program to reflect the accepted $196,205 Program Supplemental funding and the appropriated additional $25,421 from the Infrastructure Reserve fund for a local match for this Program Supplement Agreement No. F028 Revision 2.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council approves Budget Amendment Number 26.020 to amend the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Operating Budget in accordance with the above.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to take any other actions necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution on behalf of the City Council, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.
