Resolution making findings and determining that the conveyance of a parcel of land near the corner of Westborough Boulevard and Camaritas Avenue not assigned an Assessor’s Parcel Number, from the County of San Mateo to the City of South San Francisco is in conformance with the South San Francisco adopted General Plan and in accordance with provisions of State Planning Law (Govt. Code Section 65402)

WHEREAS, prior to acquisition of real property by the City, the Planning Commission as the planning agency for the City is required to find such a conveyance is in conformity with the adopted general plan in accordance with Government Code section 65402; and,
WHEREAS, during the planning and design for Fire Station 63, which will be located at 71 Camaritas Avenue, staff determined that a small portion of the project site was owned by San Mateo County; and
WHEREAS, staff has worked with San Mateo County to convey the parcel to the City at no cost; and
WHEREAS, the current use of this parcel is parking lot and landscaping, and will be integrated into pedestrian circulation and planting areas as part of the new fire station design; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission considered the Fire Station 63 project at its June 18, 2026 meeting and approved the project entitlements and CEQA document; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of the property will allow a cohesive site plan for the new fire station project, which is consistent with the South San Francisco General Plan’s direction to provide high quality and accessible services, facilities and amenities for residents at all stages of their lives.

1. The foregoing recitals are true and correct and made a part of this resolution.
2. Exhibit A (Property Transfer Signed) attached to this resolution is incorporated by reference and set forth fully herein.
3. The documents and other material constituting the record for these proceedings are located at the Planning Division for the City of South San Francisco, 315 Maple Avenue, South San Francisco, CA 94080, and in the custody of the Chief Planner.
4. The conveyance of a parcel of land near the corner of Westborough Boulevard and Camaritas Avenue not assigned an Assessor’s Parcel Number, from the County of San Mateo to the City of South San Francisco is in conformance with the South San Francisco General Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in accordance with California Government Code section 65402, the Planning Commission finds that the location, purpose and extent of the proposed conveyance of a parcel of land near the corner of Westborough Boulevard and Camaritas Avenue not assigned an Assessor’s Parcel Number, from the County of San Mateo to the City of South San Francisco is in conformance with the South San Francisco adopted General Plan.
