Resolution awarding a services agreement to United Storm Water, Inc. of City of Industry, CA for the Trash Capture Devices Project Phase 2 in an amount not to exceed $178,650 and authorizing the City Manager to execute the agreement.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Regional Permit (MRP) requires 100% compliance from municipalities for the installation of trash capture devices by the Summer of 2025; and

 

WHEREAS, the City requested a time extension to the end of 2025 to meet the MRP 100% compliance; and 

 

WHEREAS, the City is poised to meet the 100% MRP compliance through the Stormwater Trash Capture Device Phase 2 Project by the end of 2025; and   

 

WHEREAS, United Storm Water, Inc. (USW) has the skill and expertise to provide specialized structure-specific fabrication services and furnish a precise, watertight fit within the public works infrastructure that is consistent with existing trash capture devices installed in the City. The specific devices have been pre-approved by the State Water Resources Control Board and certified as compliant Trash Full Capture Systems; as such, City staff recommends entering into a services agreement with USW to achieve 100% MRP compliance through the Stormwater Trash Capture Device Phase 2 Project.

 

NOW THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco approves a services agreement with United Storm Water, Inc. of the City of Industry, CA, attached as Exhibit A, in an amount not to exceed $178,650 for the Stormwater Trash Capture Devices Phase 2 Project.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the services agreement in substantially the same form as Exhibit A, subject to timely submission of executed agreement and related documents by United Storm Water, Inc., and to utilize unspent funds from the total project budget, if necessary, towards additional project budget.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized to take additional actions necessary to implement the intent of this resolution.
