Resolution accepting $18,750 from Child Care Coordinating Council of San Mateo County, Inc. towards the South San Francisco Promotores Program, authorizing the City Manager to execute a Memorandum of Understanding, and approving Budget Amendment Number 26.015.
Body
WHEREAS, the City currently provides economic mobility services through its Economic Advancement Center (EAC); and
WHEREAS, one of the successful resources within the EAC has been the Promotores Program, which has served the community navigating a variety of resources available to residents; and
WHEREAS, Child Care Coordinating Council of San Mateo County, Inc. (4Cs) is a nonprofit organization is San Mateo County that supports community members in need of childcare and is helping build the childcare ecosystem throughout the county; and
WHEREAS, 4Cs would like to partner with the City of South San Francisco through the EAC and its Promotores Program to help promote its Family Child Care (FCC) Provider Pathways program, which helps individuals with career pathways to become a childcare provider and ultimately bring more childcare opportunities throughout the county.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby takes the following actions:
1. The foregoing recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein as part of this Resolution;
2. Approves the acceptance of $18,750 in funds from Child Care Coordinating Council of San Mateo County, Inc to conduct four outreach events in South San Francisco in fiscal year 2025-26;
3. Authorizes the City Manager or their designee to execute a Memorandum of Understanding, incorporated herein as Exhibit A;
4. Appropriates Budget Amendment Number 26.015;
5. Authorizes the Director of Finance to take all necessary budgetary actions to carry out the intent of this Resolution; and
6. Authorizes the City Manager to take any other related actions necessary to carry out the intent of this Resolution.
