Title

Resolution awarding a minor construction contract to iDrill Engineering Inc of San Francisco, California, for Centennial Trail access improvements (Project No. TR2413, Bid No. 2714), and approving Budget Amendment Number 26.052.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Project No. TR2413 was established to improve bicycle and pedestrian connectivity near El Camino Real and 1st Street and to support future grant funding efforts; and

 

WHEREAS, subsequent studies and field review identified localized pedestrian and bicycle access gaps at nearby street connections to the Centennial Trail; and

 

WHEREAS, staff recommends refining the scope of Project No. TR2413 to incorporate these access improvements and deliver the work as a single minor construction effort; and

 

WHEREAS, the City conducted an informal public works bidding process in accordance with City policy and State law; and

 

WHEREAS, iDrill Engineering Inc of San Francisco, California was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder; and

 

WHEREAS, Budget Amendment No. 26.052 increases the Project No. TR2413 budget by $10,000 from Citywide Transportation Impact Fees, to support the refined scope and construction delivery approach.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby:

1.                     Approves a refinement to the scope of Project No. TR2413 to include Centennial Trail access improvements;

2.                     Awards a minor construction contract to iDrill Engineering Inc of San Francisco, California pursuant to an informal public works bidding process;

3.                     Authorizes a total construction contract authority of $170,000, inclusive of contingency, to address potential additional work identified during construction, if approved by the City;

4.                     Approves Budget Amendment Number 26.052, increasing the Project No. TR2413 budget by $10,000 from Citywide Transportation Impact Fees; and

5.                     Authorizes the City Manager to execute the Minor Construction Agreement and related documents, subject to approval by the City Attorney.
